Our reading of Tesla’s battery day

Elon Musk: “It’s absolutely critical that we make cars that people can people can actually afford.” “Affordability is key to how we scale.”
So, let’s do the following:
*Tesla cuts battery cost/kWh by 54% by better making batteries.
*EP Tender cuts battery size requirement by 54% by better using batteries.
*Tesla and other OEMS make affordable EVs at 25k USD and 20 k€, which thanks to EP Tender’ smart trailer powerbanks can travel with peace of mind (+60kWh on demand and 1.8MW equivalent charging power)
This vison is the only small, but key detail which was missing in the battery day presentation!
An EP Tender is also a Powerwall with wheels: it’s not so clever to dupicate batteries at home and inside the car… The same battery in a smart trailer powerbank can do both occasional range extending and grid/home storage.
Tesla is daring and their reasoning very structured and to the point. Their current unique selling point is range and performance.
Tomorrow it will be affordability and convenience. There is a window of opportunity, for other daring and structured thinking OEMs, to be the first to capture this USP (in a profitable and sustainable way…)!
